25 May Six Consortium Alumni Chosen To Be Among The Newest Cardinals

The Holy Father recently announced that 14 new Cardinals will be named at a consistory on 29 June 2018 in Rome.  We are extremely proud to announce that 6 of the 14 are Consortium Alumni. They are:

His Beatitude Louis Raphaël I Sako, Patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans, (born in Iraq in 1948),got his doctorate in Patristic Theology in Rome, at the Pontifical Oriental Institute.

Msgr. Luis Francisco Ladaria Ferrer, S.J., Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, (born in Spain in 1944) got his doctorate in Dogmatic Theology at the Greg., where he taught and lives as Professor Emeritus.

Msgr. Angelo De Donatis, Vicar General of Rome, (born in Italy in 1954), got his license in Moral Theology at the Greg.

Msgr. António dos Santos Marto, Bishop of Leiria-Fatima, (born in Portugal in 1947) got his doctorate in Theology at the Greg.

Msgr. Sergio Obeso Rivera, Archbishop Emeritus of Xalapa (born in Mexico in 1931), got his doctorate in Theology at the Greg.

Msgr. Joseph Coutts, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Karachi (born in India in 1945), was a guest former student in the Faculty of Theology at the Greg.
