Fr. Peter Dubovský, SJ is a distinguished scholar of the Hebrew Bible and Old Testament exegesis, currently serving as the Rector Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. A Jesuit priest with a deep commitment to biblical studies, he holds a Th.D. from Harvard Divinity School, an S.S.L. from the Pontifical Biblical Institute, and has pursued specialized studies in archaeology, biblical Hebrew, and theology at esteemed institutions such as the École Biblique et Archéologique Française de Jérusalem and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

 

Fr. Dubovský has taught extensively, holding academic positions at Trnava University (Slovakia), Georgetown University, Holy Cross, and as a Research Fellow at Harvard University. His work has been recognized with numerous grants and awards, including the Buda’s Prize and Harvard’s Dean’s Dissertation Fellowship. With a background that uniquely combines biblical scholarship, archaeology, and theological inquiry, he continues to contribute to the Church’s intellectual and spiritual formation through his teaching and research.
